Germany Asks the Wind to Wait for the CablesDuitsland vraagt de wind op de kabels te wachten
Germany adds 45 grid projects and ties new renewables to the pace of the gridDuitsland voegt 45 netprojecten toe en koppelt nieuwe wind en zon aan het tempo van het net
The German government has approved 45 additional transmission-grid projects and wants new wind and solar parks to follow the pace of the grid, to keep costs down. Renewables already supply the bulk of the power mix, and Berlin expects that share to keep rising.
It is a beautiful plan: billions of euros poured into the ground in the hope that the weather cooperates with the industrial schedule.
It remains, however, unburdened by the reality of a windless, cloudy Tuesday in November.
